I caught the travel bug in 2009 while living in the Dominican Republic and have been obsessed ever since. I am in a constant state of wanderlust and always looking for my next grand adventure.
The Great Backpacking Trip of 2016 did me in for good, and I came to the realization that I had to commit my life to travel. Visiting new places, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures is rewarding, fulfilling, and something I want to experience daily. My favorite memories in life involve being in unfamiliar territory and doing an activity outside my comfort zone. I want a lifetime of those memories. Life is too short for anything less.
I am not a wanderer by trade. I have my Masters of Health Science from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health and my Bachelors of Science in Public Health from the College of Charleston. While I greatly value my education, the road is calling my name.

I wouldn't say I was much of an adventurer growing up. In fact, I was the complete opposite. When my family traveled, I insisted on staying inside for most of the trip, playing video games and watching the entire first season of The OC.
Now I can hardly go a day without thinking of the next adventure. It started in 2013 with a mountain trip to Boulder, CO. I became addicted to the smell and feel of the fresh mountain air, and the thrill of climbing to the top of the world. The mountain trips continued, but it was backpacking for seven weeks through Europe in 2016 that really showed me what a true adventure was. In fact, I loved it so much I went back for another four weeks in 2017. There's something about living on the road in a foreign country, with only a backpack full of stuff to my name, that makes me feel like I'm getting everything I can out of life.
After graduating with my Masters in Analytics from the Institute for Advanced Analytics at NC State University in 2017, I embarked on a different kind of adventure. Colby and I road tripped it clear across the country from North Carolina to California, where we set up shop on the coast, thousands of miles away from everything we've ever known. I am incredibly excited for all of the adventures that await us on the West Coast, and even more so for the adventures Dolby Travels has in store.

We added a second fur baby to the family in February 2021. Charlie is extremely athletic (hello catching frisbees mid-air) yet uncoordinated. A rare breed, indeed.
